THEFT OF SERVICE

Rarely do "good" citizens get to see what happens behind the scene. An underlying problem that affects prices in department stores is shop lifting, Municipal Governments also experience situations that directly affect the price of water and sewer services. That problem is "theft of service."

Believe it or not there are many people who refuse to pay their share and go to any means to avoid doing so. Know what their biggest argument is? "Somebody else must have put that there."

The photos below are actual pictures of situations our Code Enforcement Officers have discovered. All devices are seized and kept for evidence.

No Meter? No problem! This person just visited the local hardware store, bought some cheap parts and bingo - instant service.

Same story, but looks like this jumper has been used more than once.

Some are less professional than others. Even left their tools behind.

Well, we do appreciate the backflow protection, but somehow that still don't make us happy.

Figure this, this is a second jumper found at the location in the second photo from the top. At least they're persistent.
