OLD ELAM ROAD SEWER REPLACEMENT
Cost - $145,000.00
The old sewer pipe is deep and has collapsed obstructing sewer flow and backing up into
the residences along the street.
|
The job starts with a plan. |
Then the contractor moves in with his materials. |
The new pipe is welded together and the hydraulic "hammer" lines run through before insertion. |
The "hammer" nose cone is placed on the pipe to be inserted. This device will hammer and crush the old pipe and move it aside while pulling the new pipe into place. |
Once the nose cone is inserted the long piece of pipe trails it into the open trench. |
Once the pipe is in place a special television camera is run through the line to assure the pipe is not damaged and is installed correctly. |
The camera looks like a "Mars Rover." |
After new maholes are constructed the roadway is repaired around them. |
Customers receive new services with cleanouts from the main to the property line. |
Then the roadway is repaired . . . |
Leaving the project as good or better than it was before the construction. |
